The SKY application "burns" another Albanian gang, 9 arrested in

The decoding of the SKY ECC platform, after the destruction two weeks ago in Belgium of an Albanian-Bulgarian drug group and the operation in Albania to capture the perpetrators of the assassination of prosecutor Arjan Ndoja, has led to another operation by Albanian criminal groups.

9 Albanians have been arrested after a major investigation into international drug trafficking. 100,000 euros and numerous luxury goods were seized. The investigative judge of Bruges has arrested citizens of Albanian origin suspected of international drug trafficking and money laundering.

"In addition to almost 100,000 euros in cash, a large number of smartphones, luxury goods and two firearms were also seized," reports the West Flanders public prosecutor's office.

Based on elements from the SKY ECC file, FGP West Flanders investigated the gang involved in international drug trafficking and money laundering. With the help of decoded communications, investigators were able to expose their modus operandi.

"The extensive investigation showed that the activities continued even after the collapse of SKY ECC," says the West Flanders public prosecutor's office.

On Tuesday, house searches were carried out at several addresses in West and East Flanders and Antwerp, ordered by an investigating judge in Bruges.

More than 70 investigators participated in the operation, with the help of special units. A total of 13 suspects were arrested and interrogated.

"In addition, almost 100,000 euros in cash, a cash counting machine, a large number of smart phones and luxury goods as well as two ready-to-use firearms were seized," the prosecutor's office said.

Five vehicles were seized and the remains of a cannabis plantation were discovered at one address.

"As part of the investigation of money laundering and money collection, about 200,000 euros have been blocked in the accounts of the suspects," says the public prosecutor's office.

After questioning, the investigating judge decided to arrest 9 men of Albanian origin, while one woman was released on bail.
