Barça players will be forced to shower at home

The drought emergency in Catalonia has forced the regional government to adopt a series of drastic measures to reduce water consumption in the public and private sectors.

Measures that could also have a significant impact on Catalan football clubs such as Barcelona, forcing players, both after training and after matches as hosts, to return home to wash.

"Barcelona consumes water in different areas and must compensate what it uses to irrigate the fields and with the showers. Whether 'Montjuic' or 'San Joan Despí', all these facilities have the obligation to reduce water consumption. Thus, if they want to continue irrigating the fields, they must compensate for the water in other ways", warned David Mascort, advisor to the Catalan government on climate action, speaking to "Cadena Ser".

Basically, Xavi and his staff will have to decide whether to reduce or stop watering the training and playing pitches for a few days, allowing the players to shower immediately or to favor the grass of the pitches the coach has points to. poorly and therefore force the players to return home to shower.
