The Israeli Ambassador to Albania, Galit Peleg, in an interview for the show "Albania NewsCast", commented on the recent protests and their impact on the country's international image.
She calls them democratic and people's rights, but caution is needed with anti-Semitic elements.
The Israeli diplomat emphasized that such reactions do not harm Israel, but Albania itself and its renowned tradition of hospitality and religious tolerance.
"Albania's best asset is its people and the DNA of the Albanian people: tolerance, hospitality and kindness.
Albanians are proud of our shared history and the salvation of the Jews.
But when people see such scenes, they wonder where this tolerance went.
"If an Israeli or Jew does not feel safe coming here, this damages the image of Albania, not Israel," Peleg declared.
However, the ambassador underlined that this is a very small group of individuals and that there is no doubt about the general friendly spirit of the Albanian people.
