Global leader? Rama: I feel blessed that I am not among those who make big

Prime Minister Edi Rama made a special statement during an interview in Berlin, where he spoke about politics, art and the international situation.

Asked by journalist Igor Lopez of El Pais about current developments in the world and the role of politics, Rama said that he feels "blessed" that Albania is a small country and that it is not part of the group of leaders who make the biggest decisions on the global stage.

"I feel blessed that I am not among those who are in the place where big decisions are made today. Albania is so small that no one expects me to make any big decisions for the planet," Rama said.

Rama added that he does not know what he would do in a position where he would have to make decisions with global impact.

"This is lucky, because I have no idea what I would do or what I could do. Things are going pretty badly in this part of the world," he said.

Rama on politics: You have to make things happen

In the interview, Rama described politics as one of the highest forms of human engagement, directly linking it to change.

"Politics has a lot of meaning and it's a shame it's lost it. It's the highest form of engagement and intellectual process: you have to make things happen, not with paint, not with a piano, but with people."

He also acknowledged that politics can be a psychologically consuming experience, recalling one of his principles: "Art is an attempt not to go crazy, because politics can be madness."
