Prime Minister Edi Rama has today inspected the flooded areas due to the rains, as they were under water for three days.
But, more than the concern for the citizens whose homes are surrounded by water on all four sides, the prime minister was worried about the media reporting. In fact, most of his speech, both in Shkodër and in Lezhë, was occupied by criticism of the media.
Three days after the floods, Rama said that what is seen on the camera is a lie, as according to him the water in the area is receding and that the streets and houses of the citizens are not flooded.
still there are flooded hectares, but let's not forget that in the case that in other areas we have a complete change of sewerage systems, drainage, etc. etc., what has been done here, what has been done by the central structures, while at the level of the local structures, to be honest, we have always had a problem, and I do not want to blame anyone, nor to point the finger at anyone, but actually to say that this came as a result of the world being flooded, the apocalypse was caused by the cascade, this is a scandal in itself."said Rama in Shkodër, as he did not spare criticism of the media in Lezhë either.
"The way the cameras are deliberately placed, it looks like a prank is going on here. Here is a difficult situation at certain points for entirely objective reasons. At the moment when the water comes rushing, you can have channels, but there is nothing to do because the intensity is such. If you see the figures in Shkodër, they are completely clear. The numbers of those affected are minimal and the hectares are many times less than in the case of major floods. In conditions of very frequent rains, the difference is colossal because it has been worked on and will be worked on every day. The way they set up the cameras is horrible. With a camera, even a self-made pond can turn the whole of Albania into a flood" - said Rama.
