A group of deputies of the Democratic Party, led by Enkeled Alibeaj, today requested the declaration of a state of natural calamity in three districts, Shkodër, Lezhë and Durrës. In the request addressed to Prime Minister Edi Rama, several MPs, representatives of the DP in these districts have signed.
With several signatures collected by deputies Agron Gjekmarkaj, Merita Bakiu, Andja Ulliri, Elidon Bushati, Ramadan Likaj, Ferndinant Xhaferraj, Lindita Metaliaj, Greta Bardheli, representatives of the three counties hit hardest by a natural disaster, have initiated a request directed to Prime Minister Edi Rama, with which the announcement of the state of regional natural disaster is requested in these three counties. The rainfall situation has caused serious problems in the region of Shkodra, Lezha and Durrës as a result of the floods.
As a result of the floods, fields with crops, livestock, citizens' houses, cultural heritage assets, such as the Bahcallek Bridge in Shkodër, were damaged. But what makes the situation more serious is the damage to the health and lives of citizens, as was the tragic case of the loss of life of two citizens, father and son, in Malesia e Madhe.
Based on this tragic balance for the health, life, properties and assets of the citizens of these areas, we estimate that the constitutional and legal criteria for declaring a state of natural disaster are fulfilled , said Alibeaj.
