The Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi, has provided information on the current situation in the country after the rains.

The minister indicates that some of the municipalities have problems due to heavy rains.

According to the information, the situation in Shkodra region and Malësi i Madhe, where the evacuation of residents who are at risk of flooding has started, is problematic.

STATEMENT:

For Lezha district; in Kurbin, about 15 mm of rain fell, in Zadrima 131 mm, we have some flooded areas in these areas. There are about 500 Ha flooded.

There are floods in Shkodër district. There was 4 mm of rain in Kukës. In Fushë-Arrëz, damage to rural roads and disconnection of electricity are reported. In Vau e Deja, the situation is a bit more problematic, the Gjadër River and the Glina Stream have come out of their bed. Electricity has been cut.

In the Malësi e Madhe municipality, the stream has come out of the bed. Work is continuing to evacuate residents who are at risk of flooding. We are on alert and have convened the Emergency Committee to increase preparedness. All ministers are informed about the situation and will be organized to face any eventuality. On the one hand, it is good news for the supply of electricity, as the hydropower plants are filling up, but we will also face an unpleasant situation, which is the flooding of lands or some roads.
