DP leader Sali Berisha has denounced what he calls a "scandal of the highest level," accusing Prime Minister Edi Rama of preventing President Bajram Begaj from leading the Albanian delegation at the NATO Summit in Ankara.

In a post on social media, Berisha accuses that the decision was made for the personal interests of the prime minister and constitutes a serious violation of the constitutional order.

In his reaction, Berisha claims that Begaj was designated by protocol as the head of the Albanian delegation, while Rama, according to him, intervened to block the head of state's trip and take over the leadership of the delegation himself.

Berisha calls this an unacceptable act and accuses the prime minister of concentrating power, emphasizing that his claims are based on information provided by a "digital diplomat."

A scandal of the highest level!

Dear friends, yesterday a scandal of the highest level, never heard of before, occurred. Yesterday, Edi Rama blocked Begaj's trip as head of the Albanian delegation to the NATO Summit in Ankara.

Although the letter sent to the host protocol authorities, according to two diplomatic sources, informed that the Albanian delegation was headed by President Bajram Begaj and members Edi Rama, etc.

But Rama, in an unconstitutional act, has threatened Begaj like a bandit and has blocked his travel both on the taxi plane booked by the Albanian delegation and with commercial airlines, and has set off alone with his wife on a plane that, according to the media, costs 110 thousand euros per flight hour.

The Digital Diplomat informs that this quarrel started a week ago in Albania when the Turkish Ambassador, according to him, requested a meeting and handed over the invitation to the NATO Summit in Ankara to President Bajram Begaj. The latter, according to the source, tells the ambassador that these are Rama's business, so I think the invitation should be sent to him. The ambassador replied that this is determined by the Summit protocol and he is only forwarding the invitation. Rama immediately calls the Turkish ambassador and asks that the invitation be sent to him. Nothing further is known about Rama's interventions with the Turkish presidency. But the document sent to the Albanian delegation at the Summit, according to the diplomat, was signed by Begaj as the delegation chairman and Edi Rama not as the deputy chairman but simply as a delegation member, which meant that at the Summit table in the first place where Albania was written, Begaj would sit, and Rama would sit in the chair behind him, likewise in the family photo in the place designated for Albania, Begaj would be photographed with the other participants as the country's representative and not Rama.

For all of this, Rama, like a gangster, decided to prohibit the head of state and the commander-in-chief of the military forces from traveling to Turkey.

I condemn with the greatest force this serious, unconstitutional, bandit act by Edi Rama against the head of state of the country, with which he once again proves the concentration of all powers in his hands.
