Democratic Party MP, Gjin Gjoni, stated that the majority of participants in the protest that has been going on for 38 days on Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard are supporters of the opposition, but according to him, the protest was not organized by DP structures.

Gjoni said that this protest was prompted by citizen dissatisfaction over issues that have also been denounced by the DP.

"There is a popular awakening and today's protest is also due to the denunciations that the Democratic Party has made, but today people have gone beyond party structures. And the problem is that the issues of corruption, the issues of organized crime, the issues of the connection between politics and organized crime, the issue of money laundering, the issue of criminals brought into power and today who are making laws on demand based on the people who have entered parliament today, are elements that today the people have managed to understand and come out of party frameworks," the Democratic MP emphasized on Off the Record on A2 CNN.

Asked if it would be right for the leader of the DP, Sali Berisha, to come out to lead the protest, Gjoni replied: Why should he come out? It takes on a political nature because people will go after Sali Berisha. The democratic part and that's where it ruins the protest.

Gjoni also emphasized that the DP has decided that it will not enter parliament if the protesters' demands are not taken into consideration.

"Has the Democratic Party made a decision that it will not go to parliament if the four laws demanded by the protesters are not introduced, it will not be in a parliamentary session?" emphasized Gjoni.
