A special piece of Matthew Perry's legacy will be auctioned next month, in an initiative that not only targets collectors, but also a much larger cause.

The auction is organized in collaboration with the Matthew Perry Foundation and the proceeds will go to support the fight against addiction and to help people facing this battle on the road to recovery.

According to Heritage Auctions, the auction will begin on June 5 and aims to advance the actor's most important mission, building a world where addiction is not associated with stigma and where every person seeking help has access to care, resources and community support.

The auction's beneficiaries include concrete programs and initiatives, such as the addiction medicine specialty program at Massachusetts General Hospital, as well as support for organizations working directly on the ground in rehabilitation. Perry himself struggled with addiction for years, then turned his experience into a mission to help others.

The auction will also include iconic items from the legendary series Friends, which made Perry famous worldwide. Among them are 26 scripts from the series, two of which are signed by the main cast, including Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer. Also up for sale will be a special photo album and a symbolic object from the series, the yellow frame of Monica's apartment door, a detail that has become part of television history.

The list also includes awards and artwork, such as the SAG trophy that Perry won in 1995, as well as works by well-known artists such as Banksy and Mel Bochner.

The objects will be on display to the public in Beverly Hills from May 18 to 29, while the auction will take place both online and physically in Dallas on June 5.

“Matthew believed that addiction should be treated with compassion and science, not stigma and silence,” said Lisa Kasteler Calio, CEO of the Matthew Perry Foundation. “This auction supports the foundation’s work to expand access to evidence-based care and combat stigma. It’s another way to ensure that no one has to struggle with this disease alone.”

This auction is not just an opportunity to own a piece of history from one of television's most beloved actors, but also a way to contribute to a cause that was deeply and personally meaningful to Matthew Perry. His legacy, it seems, lives on not only through art, but also through the real impact it has on people's lives.
