The Greek singer Andonis Remos gave a concert yesterday evening at the Palace of Congresses in Tirana together with another well-known Greek artist, Marinela.

In the first minutes of the concert, he apologized for hurting the Albanian immigrants in Greece in the first years of emigration.

Remos explained that he understands well what it means to be an immigrant and to grow up as a child of immigrants in a foreign land, recounting his own story as a child born in Germany to Greek parents.

"I want to tell you a few words that come from my heart. In 1995-96 I took the first steps in my career as a singer. In the 90s, you also started coming to Greece.

Many years have passed since then, you grew up, created your own families, children, those children also grew up. We grew up together.

What I want to say from the bottom of my heart are just two words: Thank you very much! I apologize! Thank you for really helping our Greece in its time of need. And a "I'm sorry" that Greece many times, not all, but several times Greece hurt you!

And I feel that you were hurt, as I was as a child of immigrants in Germany. I was born in Germany, I know what it means to be a child of immigrants in a foreign country.

Thus, from the bottom of my heart, with much love and respect, I say these two expressions to you. Because coming here, I saw a country that has already opened its wings and is flying really high in the sky, with such beautiful achievements and changes. I saw such a beautiful city, Tirana is truly a wonderful city", said Remos.
