Turkey introduces a new generation of drones with jet engines like other fighter jets that are controlled by pilots.

They are called "Kizilelma" or Red Apple, and their special feature is that they can engage in air battles with other aircraft, unlike the current Bajraktar drones that are only used to carry out attacks on ground targets.

This footage shows moments from test flights conducted near a military airport 85 kilometers west of Istanbul.

Their appearance looks like the fighter jets of the fifth generation, the latest one.

Bayraktar Kizilelma, which is capable of conducting air-to-air combat as manned fighter jets with aggressive maneuvers, will change the balance on the battlefield with these capabilities, unlike unmanned aerial vehicles that have been developed with indigenous resources and national and have a great influence in the world.

The aircraft, whose development studies are fully carried out by Turkish engineers and technicians with experience gained in the Bayraktar TB2 and Bayraktar Akinci projects, will ensure effectiveness against air targets with domestic ammunition.

The characteristic of the small cross-section of the radar, which is considered one of the most critical issues in the design processes of guided combat aircraft, has also been taken into account in the design of "Bayraktar Kizilelma".

The aircraft will use all the ammunition developed by Turkish engineers and its planned payload is 1,500 kilograms.

The Turkish military is planning to create an air fleet with this model that will be part of an aircraft carrier produced for the American F-35 jets, which Washington never delivered to Turkey, after the breakdown of relations over several international issues. Turkish drones have played a decisive role in several conflicts, such as in Azerbaijan, Syria, Libya and recently in Ukraine.
