Video game enthusiasts will have to wait a little longer for one of the most anticipated consoles of 2025.
Nintendo just announced that it is halting pre-orders for the Switch 2 in the US as it tries to adapt to US President Donald Trump's tariffs.
The company previously announced that it will start pre-ordering on April 9.
"Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 in the US will not begin until April 9, 2025 to assess the potential impact of tariffs and evolving market conditions," Nintendo told the DailyMail.
The company says it will continue to offer the gaming system for $449.99.
To keep consoles at the same price and not pass the increase on to the customer, the company would have to "eat" millions of dollars in previously unknown costs.
The consoles are mainly manufactured in Vietnam and China. Both countries were hit with "reciprocal" tariffs by the Trump administration.
All products made in Vietnam must pay a 46 percent tariff, while products from China must pay an additional 34 percent.
