Unusual protest, German policemen go out without pants on the street, they

Police officers in the German state of Bavaria have found an unusual way to protest the lack of uniforms, a problem that has plagued them for some time.

In a video posted on YouTube and social media, two police officers, a man and a woman in a patrol car, can be seen asking each other: "How long have you been waiting?" and answer four and six months, respectively, before getting out of the car, pantless.

"It may sound like an April Fool's joke, but it's not funny at all. The lack of uniforms is equal to the lack of respect for the police," said the head of the DPolG branch in Bavaria, Jürgen Kehlein.

A spokesman for the Bavarian interior ministry acknowledged the problem, citing problems in supply chains due to, among other things, the war in Ukraine and the Covid-19 pandemic, which affected the supply of police officers especially with summer trousers for many purposes.

Despite the problem, the ministry said police officers can continue to perform their duties using other uniforms.
