Donald Trump/ Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj appeared alongside Donald Trump at a campaign rally in Michigan, where the US president commented on her physical appearance during a speech.

At the same time, an announcement from White House communications director Steven Cheung further fueled speculation that the singer could one day be given a role in the Trump administration.

Minaj was at the rally to support Republican candidates ahead of the upcoming midterm elections.

Minaj was sitting in the audience before taking the stage, and Trump suddenly called attention to her appearance during his speech. His comment drew applause from the crowd.

"By the way, look at what a nice ass... Nicki Minaj has. It's hard not to notice that," Trump said, and after applause he added: "Stand up. It's hard not to notice that. I hope Nicki wasn't offended, but we love Nicki. She's been with us for a long time."
