A bomb threat has caused panic in the "Fan Zone" in Berlin, set to watch the opening match of EURO 2024 between Germany and Scotland.

A man was detained while the anti-explosive dog unit and numerous police forces went to the scene.

"As a precautionary measure, a restricted area has been set up. The bag is now being examined. It could also happen that someone does not take it into the area because the backpack is larger than the permitted A4 size," said Beate Ostertag, spokeswoman for the Berlin police.

Police in the German capital announced the discovery of a backpack and immediately dispatched bomb disposal units and other teams to secure the area. According to what is reported by the German newspaper Bild, a suspicious backpack was found, which caused panic and led to the arrest of one person.
