The Small and Medium Business Association has called on entrepreneurs across Albania to join the national student protest, scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 24th.

The association is asking businesses to lower their shutters during the protest hours, as a sign of solidarity with the students and citizens who have been protesting against the government for days.

In its statement, the association emphasizes that the current situation is not only related to the demands of students, but also to the future of Albanian businesses, families and children. According to its representatives, the state of business and society requires civic response, solidarity and responsibility.

"We call on every entrepreneur to stand in solidarity and join with students, civil society and Albanian citizens participating in these protests. This is not just an issue of today. It is an issue that is directly related to the future of our business, our families and our children," the statement said.

In addition to participating in the protest, the association is asking businesses that are able to provide necessary products and services to protesters during the rally.

"We call on all Albanian businesses to join the protesting students and citizens tomorrow. We also call on businesses to lower their shutters during the designated protest hours in solidarity with the Albanian protesters," declared the head of the Small and Medium Business Association.

Student protests against the government have been ongoing for days, and one of the protesters' main demands is the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
