Second-tier banks have taken measures to adapt services to customers, temporarily reorganizing the functioning of some branches in Tirana and Durrës. The changes come in light of the situation created in recent days, with the aim of ensuring the safety of customers and employees, as well as the continuity of banking services.

According to announcements published on October 19, some banks have chosen to temporarily close some of their branches, while others have adjusted their working hours, directing customers towards alternative points and electronic services.

The National Commercial Bank has announced that 12 branches in the capital will not be offering services this Monday. The restrictions include locations on Durrës Street, Myslym Shyri, the Train Station, Don Bosko and other areas. The bank recommends that customers use its digital platforms, which are available around the clock.

Raiffeisen Bank has also adjusted its work organization, announcing the closure of five branches in Tirana, while the other branches continue to operate normally.

Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania has announced changes to eight branches that will remain closed, two of which will remain closed until further notice. Meanwhile, five other branches, two in Tirana and three in Durrës, will offer services until 13:00. The bank has clarified that the other branches continue to operate according to normal hours.

OTP Bank has decided to temporarily close two branches and reduce the hours of operation in eight others, which will serve customers until 12:00. In other branches, service will continue until 15:30.

A similar organization has been chosen by ABI Bank, which has announced that eight branches in Tirana will operate until noon, while customers can go to other branches of the bank or use electronic services and the ATM network.

Credins Bank has reduced hours at six branches, where service will be provided until 1:00 PM, while all other branches are in full service.

Union Bank has announced the closure of three branches in the capital, namely Shallvare, Piazza and Toptani. To facilitate customers' access to cash, the bank has announced that they can make withdrawals without commission at the ATM network in Albania, including those of other banks.

Fibank has also adjusted its network operations, announcing that branches near the Twin Towers and the Faculty of Science will remain closed, while the rest of the branches will continue to operate normally.

On the other hand, ProCredit Bank has confirmed that all its branches and agencies in Tirana and other cities continue to operate according to the usual organization.

In total, according to the announcements of the eight banks that have changed their work organization, 33 branches have been announced closed and 27 others with reduced hours. These figures reflect changes in physical service and do not imply the cessation of banking activity as a whole.

For citizens and businesses, banks recommend that, before appearing at the counters, they verify branch hours through official communication channels. Actions that can be performed through applications, internet banking and self-service services remain alternatives to avoid unnecessary movements.

Announcements to date indicate that banks are implementing various organizational measures, depending on the location of branches and the assessment of security conditions, aiming to maintain customers' access to financial services.

The temporary reorganization of work in bank branches is related to the adaptation of services and security measures to the current conditions. Restrictions on hours or the temporary closure of some branches do not constitute, in themselves, indicators of financial difficulties of banks or problems with citizens' deposits. The published announcements relate to the functioning of physical service points, while customers can continue to use alternative banking channels according to the conditions of each bank.
