Violent protests in Albania have entered their 7th day, while Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted this Monday morning, promising bonuses for officers who will be on the front lines of the protest.
Invited to "Top Story", SP MP Blendi Klosi stated that the students' demands have been heard, while adding that the police are establishing order.
On the other hand, journalist Arion Sulo opposed it, saying that the police have used violence and that the country is one step away from another civil war.
Klosi: Should there be an agreement with the students, to fulfill their demands? Or with the citizens of the protest? The government is definitely listening. One of the students' demands is the demand for housing. It was listened to and a platform was created to help students get houses with zero credit. It is a response to the protest.
Sulo: They entered the church today. The violence is the government's. You have no hand in the systematic violence that Edi Rama has committed in 13 years.
Klosi: For 12 years, you received an answer a year ago. You say violence is exercised by the state. Statistics from hospitals say that over 200 of the injured are police officers.
Sulo : Leave them alone. You've been massacring them for four days. You want to suppress them with violence.
Klosi : There was no violence this morning. There is no oppression. There is order and discontent. Stones do not solve problems.
Sulo: What about those guys in the SP?! One step away from '97, one step away from the civil war.
