The student protest and the clashes recorded during the rallies have become part of the debate on the show "Top Story", where Grida Duma and the Secretary General of the Socialist Party, Blendi Klosi, clashed over the way the situation was managed.
The well-known moderator criticized the government's response to peaceful protests, saying that citizens' demands have not been answered and that, when protests escalate, the majority's response is to warn of financial consequences for the damages caused.
On the other hand, Klosi asked him if he was in favor of violence and said that in the face of damage to the premises, they had intervened to protect the building, since the police, according to him, had not remained at the scene.
The debate heated up when Duma asked Klosi if this was the way the Socialist Party acted, referring to the use of cannons to protect the building. Klosi replied that they could not let it burn and that they had acted to protect the premises.
Excerpts from the debate:
Grida Duma: The greatest right is a complaint and not a demand. Flamingos are very nice and beautiful. And zero reflection on them. And when the situation escalates, you say that we don't like you even calmly, that we don't listen to you, not violently because you beat us. You say we will beat you more, you will pay the costs of these damages to businesses.
Blendi Klosi: Are you in favor of violence? Will this be solved with violence and stones?
Grida Duma: Has anyone paid parents for financial damages from misgovernment? Is this the Socialist Party, with a stick?
Blendi Klosi: What should we do? Let it burn? We defended it with our people. They broke the windows.
Grida Duma: Let the police come. Not you.
Blendi Klosi: What would you do in our country?
Grida Duma: I was in your country and we were worse. Here it is one party against one society.
Blendi Klosi: We called the police, the police came, they withdrew. We defend our territory.
