Cryptocurrency exchange platform Gemini has been attacked by hackers who claim to have obtained the data of 5.7 million users and put it up for sale for as little as 30 bitcoins.

Through a post on social networks, it is announced that various people have published the GEMINI databases, which contain the phone numbers and emails of millions of users. The cryptocurrency platform has attempted to delete profiles that promote the sale of data, which has so far failed.

The database, which sells for 30 bitcoins converted to more than $500,000 in today's value, is reported to have data as late as September, which implies that it is about active users that can be hacked.

The cryptocurrency company itself has not released any information about the data. In its brief report, Gemini underlines that its account information and systems were not affected and that customer funds and accounts "remain secure."

But the officials of the platform have informed its users that they can change the password through a special link and have suggested that everyone activate the identification through two factors, which increases the security of their access to the application.
