The Serbian Parliament has confirmed the resignation of Prime Minister Miloš Vučević .
With his resignation, work should begin immediately to elect a new government.
If a new government is not elected by April 18, new parliamentary elections will be held.
The Speaker of the Serbian Parliament, Ana Brnabić, thanked Vučević for the honest and fair performance of his duties during his time as Prime Minister.
Vučević submitted his irrevocable resignation on January 28, following large protests by citizens demanding that the perpetrators of the Novi Sad tragedy, in which 15 people lost their lives, be brought to justice.
