Passengers experienced horror at Zurich airport inside Chair's plane, which was supposed to fly to Pristina.
Blick writes that the plane filled with smoke and the passengers were alarmed. One of the passengers broke the emergency exit door. All of them reportedly tried to try emergency exits using their suitcases as well.
According to Blick, there is confusion at the airport as there was initially an announcement that we would receive a voucher for a sandwich and a drink, but then nothing was given.
"But when we wanted to get the coupons, the staff didn't know anything," said one of them. Passengers have been stranded at the airport for several hours. Flight GM600 has now been cancelled, the next regular flight to Pristina with the Chair airline did not it will be done by Thursday.
"The doors opened and there was smoke inside," says another.
“A passenger opened the overhead emergency door without being asked and thus automatically triggered the emergency slide, which caused confusion. However, it was not smoke, as assumed by the passengers, but steam from the antifreeze of the ice. The mist spread through the ventilation system. How the freezing liquid entered the ventilation system is expected to have details," said the spokesperson of Chair Airline.
"We would like to emphasize that at no time was there any danger for the 132 passengers, the crew or the plane. Passengers were informed accordingly, provided with vouchers and booked on other flights," the airline said.
