A dead seal has been found inside the premises of the Pashalimani Military Base.

It is suspected that it may have been damaged by explosive fishing (dynamite), but this has not been confirmed, or that it is dead.

A day earlier, the animal was seen swimming in an unusual manner near the Karaburun peninsula by foreigners exploring the area, while today it was found dead on the shore.


Specialists from the Protected Areas Agency are reviewing the case and a verification is expected to determine the cause of her death.

We recall that seals have recently appeared in the marine waters of the Bay of Vlora.

A few days ago, another seal was filmed feeding on an octopus, while two years ago another seal approached the boat anchorage in Radhimë.
