The journalist of Top Channel Anila Hoxha was in a direct connection with the show "Breaking", where she clarified the new punishment that will be foreseen in the new criminal code, that of judicial reprimand.

According to her, this punishment will be for those people who have committed light criminal offences.

Fjori Dardha: The judicial reprimand by announcement is somewhat the same as a lightning bolt that is realized only if the accused agrees to be reprimanded, what does this mean?

Anila Hoxha: As a new figure, it is very new when it comes to alternative punishments. Alternative punishments include several punishments, among them the conditional sentence, that is, where the suffering of the judicial decision in the cell is avoided. Among them, judicial reprimand has been introduced, which is a new and innovative figure in case it will be approved by all actors. It is worth noting that all actors of justice, including the school of magistracy, the General Prosecutor's Office, the High Council of Prosecutors, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of the Interior, the State Police, each of them who are part of the working group, give the references of them to bring a new criminal code, the most recent one that has been approved, is within the framework of the justice reform in 2017, while it has been noticed that due to many phenomena in Albanian society, starting for example with the need in order not only to announce the sentence of imprisonment of a perpetrator of a crime, judicial reprimand has also been proposed as a new approach.

This judicial reprimand given by the criminal court for minor offenses must first be accepted by the person who has committed the crime or the criminal misdemeanor to the maximum extent provided by the criminal code, the criminal offense with a maximum of 1 year imprisonment. This would bring not only judicial economy, but it would bring a minimization of the expenses of the Albanian state in terms of keeping those persons who have been declared or are waiting to be convicted or acquitted by the court, it would also give a reduction of the bill financial that Albanians pay.

If you have committed a criminal misdemeanor, you cannot be judicially reprimanded and the declaration imposed if you have committed a murder, if you have committed a violent robbery, if you have committed a serious crime. Here we are in other circumstances, but if you have been driving while intoxicated, if you have committed other acts that are considered a criminal offense and if you agree to be reprimanded then this is the first step. Then the court decides to punish you with a reprimand.
