The Inspectorate of Territorial Protection in Tirana has made an overview of the work carried out to free up occupied public spaces, managing to free up 53,031 square meters in the capital alone.

During this process, 1,408 dismantlings were carried out, of which 1,167 were voluntary by businesses and 241 were based on official decisions.

Prime Minister Edi Rama has stated that this " is not simply an action, but the first phase of a broader transformation", also announcing that a National Regulation is being drafted that will legally define the spaces that businesses can use.

The release of public spaces began in July and will continue across the country, with the aim of improving the quality of life in the community and the functionality of businesses according to national standards.

To strengthen this initiative, the government has also created an online platform for reporting cases of occupation of public spaces, which will serve as a tool for identifying and intervening in a timely manner against violators.

According to the portal's data, over 2,900 cases were reported in less than 48 hours by citizens, and a modest portion of them received a solution immediately, while thousands are waiting for the process to conclude.
