The Chief Inspector of Prison Police, Gazmen Meta, passed away today, one day after receiving his rank.

The news was announced by the Minister of Justice Ulsi Manja in a message of condolence on the passing of the officer:

As a result of a cardiac arrest, a devoted, correct employee and a precious friend to his colleagues passed away: Chief Inspector Gazmen Nazmi Meta, who deservedly received this rank only yesterday.

Since 2014, Gazmeni served for 11 years with dedication at the "Ali Demi" Penitentiary Institution as a basic role employee, becoming an example of honesty, correctness and love for duty.

In these difficult moments for his family and colleagues, as Minister of Justice I assure you that Gazmen's wife and two young children will always be under the care and support of our institution.

Rest in peace, Gazmen. Eternal gratitude for your service and contribution to the prison system in Albania.
