Another serious incident resulting in the death of a 16-year-old boy was recorded today. The minor is suspected of drowning in the Patoku lagoon this Thursday.

After he went in to bathe with his friend, he was unable to get out. The other minor was transported to the hospital for medical attention.

Police Announcement:

Today, on 24.07.2025, at around 15:00, in the Patoku lagoon, two 16-year-olds entered the sea to bathe, passing through the channel that connects the lagoon to the sea.

While they were bathing, one of them was pulled out of the water and transported to the hospital for medical attention, while the other 16-year-old is suspected to have drowned and his body has not yet been found.

The services of the Kurbin Police Station and the Border Police are at the scene, and the intervention of the Renea police has been requested to search and find the body.
