Residents of Mirdita gathered today in protest against the construction of hydroelectric power plants (HECs) in villages.

They emphasize that these projects will severely damage their livelihoods, as the village's economy relies mainly on agriculture and livestock, two sectors that are at risk from pollution and the changes that the construction of hydroelectric power plants will bring.

According to them, the rivers in the villages are drying up due to the construction of hydroelectric power plants.

Residents are determined to protect their lands and natural resources and demand action or else they warn of self-justification.
