The prosecution has provided details of the arrest of two Vietnamese women yesterday (July 23), who were practicing prostitution in a rented apartment in Berat.

In addition to the two foreign citizens, the owner of the apartment, a 31-year-old man with the initials Xh. S., a resident of Berat, was also handcuffed, who was previously convicted of the criminal offenses of "Attempted Murder", "Domestic Violence" and "Theft".

The Vietnamese women with the initials Th. D., 39 years old and Th.(Th.) D., 39 years old, and the owner of the apartment were arrested at the request of the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Berat for the criminal offense of "Prostitution".

Investigations have revealed that several foreign nationals are involved in this criminal activity, which was organized by a person in the city of Berat who is still unidentified.

They stated that they had come to Albania for tourism, but then, needing more money for the return ticket, they decided to engage in prostitution.

The foreign nationals offered sexual services for payment in a rented apartment booked through Airbnb and also had a website with their contact numbers and the services they offered.

Prosecutor's Office Announcement:

They practiced prostitution in a rented apartment, at the request of the Berat Prosecutor's Office, 2 Vietnamese citizens and the owner of the apartment are arrested

Three people, two Vietnamese citizens and the Albanian citizen Xh.S. were arrested at the request of the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Berat for the criminal offense of "Prostitution" provided for in Article 113 of the Criminal Code and for the criminal offenses provided for in Articles 115 and 300 of the Criminal Code.

From the investigations into criminal proceedings no. 370, of 2025, it resulted that several foreign nationals were implicated in this criminal activity, which was organized by a person in the city of Berat who is still unidentified. The nationals in question declared that they had come for tourism, but then, needing more money for the return ticket, they decided to carry out this illegal activity. 

The foreign nationals offered sexual services for payment in a rented apartment booked through Airbnb and also had a website with their contact numbers and the services they offered.

The Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Berat, in cooperation with the Berat Local Police Directorate, managed to discover the location and illegal activity.

After searching the apartment owned by citizen Xh.S., foreign currencies and Albanian money were found.
