Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha

The Council for Regulation, Mandates and Immunity will meet on Monday at 12:00 to decide whether or not to remove the immunity of MP Sali Berisha.

SPAK requested the change of the security measure for the former prime minister from mandatory appearance, which he did not comply with, to house arrest.

Berisha has said that he will not respect the decision of the Council of Mandates, whatever it may be.

"The meeting of the Council for Regulation, Mandates and Immunity to consider the request of the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime for the authorization by the Assembly for the arrest/deprivation of the freedom of MP Sali Berisha, through the replacement of the security measure, will will take place on 18.12.2023, at 12.00, in the Presidency of the Assembly", it is reported in the order of the Speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla.
