The Albanian "hawk" gang in Italy is dismantled, 2 suspects are arrested and the same number of other accomplices are wanted.
The operation was carried out in the area of ??Pordenone, Udine, Venice, Bergamo and Cremona, while the perpetrators are suspected of at least 13 robberies of villas and houses in a series.
The operation, codenamed "AMG" and coordinated by the Pordenone Prosecutor's Office, began after a burglary in San Vito al Tagliamento, where officers seized a stolen high-powered car used in the getaway.
The investigation led to the identification of four members of the gang, all homeless and with links to the Milan area. Two of them, MS, 24, and GA, 31, were arrested respectively in the prison of Lodi and in Tradate, in the province of Varese, where one of the two was under house arrest. The other two accomplices are still being sought.
The group moved with almost military precision, using stolen sports cars, radios, and electronic devices to evade security systems.
They operated mainly at night, targeting isolated villas and luxury homes, often after a brief reconnaissance.
Those arrested will face charges of aggravated theft, receiving stolen goods, money laundering and resisting a public official.
Investigations are ongoing to find the two fugitives and to determine whether the gang has committed other robberies in Northern Italy.
