A sensational news comes from Gjilan, where a well-known face of the championships of Albania and Kosovo, and of Balkan football in general, was arrested today after an international arrest warrant.
It is about the Nigerian striker Theophilus Solomon, the bomber of Gjilan who had a positive past with Partizan of Tirana, a team with which he scored 12 goals in 48 matches.
The 27-year-old footballer has fallen into handcuffs after the order that comes from the request of the Albanian justice, for an episode of three years ago, where he is accused of having raped his ex-girlfriend, who is an Albanian citizen.
For the same accusation, Solomon was also arrested in Albania, but was later released.
Solomon grew up as a footballer in Croatia, where he was part of several teams such as Iskra and Zadar, before moving without much success to teams with names such as Belgrade Partizan, Ujpest and Omonia and Nicosia, before transferring to Albanian Partizan, where there was also the most interesting part of his career. With Gjilan, he scored 6 goals in 18 games so far.
