The World Cup in Qatar is just around the corner. 17 of the 32 participating teams have already submitted their respective official lists. Today it was the turn of Luis Enrique, who presented his 26 chosen for the big event, which will start on November 20.
The ambitions of the Iberians are maximum, given that they have won this competition once, but also the European Championship twice. A generation of talents, combined with experience, is a guarantee for the success of the Spanish national team.
Apparently, Luis Enrique remains a fan of the Catalans, because he has included seven Barcelona players in this list: Eric Garcia, Jordi Alba, Busquets, Pedri, Gavi, Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati. The absence of Sergio Ramos, who hoped to participate in the World Cup in Qatar, is noticeable, also due to the fact that he has played this season for PSG, unlike the previous edition. Coach Luis Enrique explained his choices:
"I have a rule to talk about absences, because it is what arouses the most curiosity. This happens to all coaches. All those who have contributed to my period have my thanks, but the most important are these 26 names.
Until last night I had doubts about the attack. There are players left out who could perfectly fit on this list. I have an incredible list.
There are players who deserved to be there, but the feeling of completeness that we have as a staff when we face the World Cup, with these 26 players, is total. We have managed to create more than a selection, a team. We are convinced that we will perform very well in Qatar".
