Cristiano Ronaldo unveiled the new watch line, which shows the goal he scored against Manchester United, shortly before his departure from the English club was confirmed.

An hour before the announcement, he posted on Instagram about his partnership with Jacob & Co, a watch brand that uses his image on the watch face for their designs.

One of these designs features a big moment from the Portuguese star as he rose above Man United defenders to score for Real Madrid in the Champions League in February 2013.

Cristiano's caption on the post read: “Happy to announce my partnership with @jacobandco, one of the world's leading watch brands. Today, we unveil our first collection of watches that I co-designed with my dear friend @jacobarabo'.

The post was made shortly before the club announced that they had ended their working relationship with the Portuguese star, who returned to Manchester United last summer.

Ronaldo's departure from the Red Devils has left fans divided as to whether he is a club legend, or if he made matters worse with his interview last week.

He won three league titles with the Red Devils during his first spell at the club, before moving to Real Madrid, where he won two La Liga titles and four Champions League trophies.

Ronaldo is currently on "international duty" with Portugal at the World Cup in Qatar, and their opener against Ghana is the third of four games on Thursday, having completed the first group of group stage matches.
