Thaçi returns to Pristina, allowed to visit sick father, chants of "KLA, KLA" near the hospital, Rama: This is a man

After two rejected requests, former President Hashim Thaçi has been allowed to stay in Kosovo. On Thursday, he went to the Internal Clinic in Pristina where his father, who is in serious health condition, is being treated.

After about 3 and a half hours of his stay at the Internal Clinic, former President Hashim Thaçi left the Kosovo University Clinical Center complex under the escort of EULEX forces.

There were heightened security measures during his stay, with EULEX and Kosovo Police forces securing the perimeter around the clinic. The Specialist Chambers confirmed that the reason for the visit to Kosovo was the health condition of Hashim's father.

Hundreds of citizens gathered near the clinic, chanting "Thaci, Thaci" and "KLA, KLA" as they greeted the former prime minister from afar.

Also present in the clinic courtyard were Hashim Thaçi's three brothers, Blerim, Idrizi and Ganiu.

Meanwhile, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has also reacted to Thaçi's return to Pristina.

Posting his photo, Rama calls him a man, also adding the eagle icon.

Hashim Thaçi is indicted by the Specialist Chambers for alleged war crimes and has recently been indicted for obstructing the administration of justice. He has been in detention since November 2020.
