Expensive cars have always been the favorites of the heads of institutions, but their maintenance brings out problems. The most recent case is that of Lindita Nikolë, where the Parliament of Albania has opened a tender worth 45,000 euros including VAT to repair the three Mercedes cars belonging to the institution's owners.

According to the object of the procurement procedure, it is a two-year contract for the period 2024-2025 for the repair and maintenance of an SUV from 2006, which was purchased by the former Speaker of the Assembly, Jozefina Topalli and has already remained in the institution's inventory. , reports A2.

A class S car from 2013, bought by Ilir Meta in 2014, at that time Speaker of the Assembly and currently used by Agron Gjekmarkaj, and another Mercedes, from 2018, which was bought by Gramoz Ruçi and is now used by Lindita Nikolla .

The value of the object has apparently exceeded even the procurement commission at the Parliament of Albania, where in the arguments why this tender was needed, they tried to identify the reason for such a high figure for the repair or maintenance of three cars.

"The list of services subject to procurement has been significantly enriched with new items compared to previous years, in order to enable optimal follow-up of the implementation process of the contracts that will be concluded prior to any situation.

And a situation that the Assembly has intended to prevent seems to be the breakdown of the car on the road, where as a criterion for the competing companies in the tender, there is also the provision of the relocation of the vehicle with a cart.

According to the deadlines, the tender in question has been closed and the conclusion of the contract for the disbursement of money by the institution is expected.
