Minister Volta Llaçka thinking about the changes of world ambassadors

TIRANA / WASHINGTON / UN - For the Albanian Foreign Minister Volta Llaçka, it was an ordinary, almost banal technicality of her daily work, the moment when she announced that the American ambassador in Tirana would soon leave and that the procedure for her replacement had begun with a most auspicious diploma.

Surprisingly, the news caused an incomprehensible uproar in the Albanian media and everyone, whether for or against, started to comment on whether Volta had done well or badly; and if she had done well, had she consulted her uncle Servetus or had she acted on her own?

However, for those specialists who know how it works and what are the duties of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - whose full name is the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs - the fact that the minister brings or removes foreign ambassadors is a normal part of the job.

As foreign expert Miço Përsheshi affirms for Patronageist, " the name itself shows that on the diplomatic level, the ministry mainly deals with Europe, then with Foreign Affairs, which means with the rest of the world. The United States also enters this last section. Even Minister Volta Llaçka would not do her duty properly, if she did not appoint or dismiss foreign ambassadors in Tirana".

After clarifying this point, it is appropriate to go deeper and shed more light on the concrete details of Minister Llaçka's work. Here we will not dwell on her second job outside the official schedule - that of a strategic investor. Because what a minister does, or a deputy, or an out-of-duty director, - if he receives concessions, percentages, signatures, favors, duty-free clearances, construction permits, demolition permits, etc., etc. - is part of his private life, isn't it?

Thus, in fact, the volume of work for Foreign Minister Volta Llaçka has recently increased. Patronageist has learned in confidence that America has asked Llaçka, as an honor, to deal with its other ambassadors, mainly those appointed in Europe, but also in China and India: Specifically, Dick Dickson and Andrew Carr. But this is the simplest part, since Volta Llaçka has lived in America and knows how to speak American.

Her problem is other, much more specific requirements.

Thus, Turkey has asked Volta to change the Turkish ambassador to Australia, Fevzi Teveqel, but also the one in Pakistan, Murat Zevzek. Ms. Llaçka has so far considered replacing these two diplomats with Adnan Pilafçi and Mukadez Tyryfyl.

Meanwhile, Kazakhstan has taken the turn to address the case of its ambassador in France, Agabeg Karabegov, and the one in South Africa, Safet Imambayalldov.

Interesting is the choice that Volta Llaçka will make to replace the Greek ambassador to Japan, Sotiris Llapaqenis, and the ambassador of Athens to Brazil, Xanthipi Delipalla.

Meanwhile, the Italian Foreign Ministry's request to change its ambassador in Zimbabwe, Giorgio Curva, and the one in Mongolia, Pasquale Putanesca, has caused the biggest dilemmas.

It is learned that Minister Llaçka has expressed that the replacements should be found prominent, so that the surnames of the new ambassadors are at the height of those who left.

On the other hand, what until now was considered nothing more than a conspiracy theory is very likely to be true:

The EU - Western Balkans summit held in Tirana was just an excuse for the leaders of Europe and neighboring countries to befriend Prime Minister Edi Rama, to say a word to Volta Lla?ka about the problems they had with their ambassadors. Even the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Karpuzi herself was heard whispering to Rama "I came to be your friend", in Italian, "sono venuta per entrare amica". That says it all.
