Michael Schumacher has reportedly been seen in public for the first time in several years at his daughter Gina's wedding.
The 27-year-old exchanged vows with her new husband Iain Bethke last Saturday in a lavish ceremony at their family villa in Majorca. German media have reported that the F1 star was on hand to witness the joyous occasion.
Schumacher still needs medical attention all the time after his life-changing skiing accident over a decade ago. The German pilot was involved in a skiing accident in the French Alps, causing him to spend several months in a coma caused by the impact.
Since being allowed to return to his family home on Lake Geneva in September 2014, he has been in the care of his devoted wife Corinna and a team of medical professionals.
Corinna, who fiercely defends her husband's privacy, has only allowed a select group of trusted friends and family members to visit him. Only a small number of people inside and outside schumacher's family are believed to be aware of the specifics of his condition and care, reports foreign media.
However, Michael's presence at his daughter's wedding may indicate a change in the family's attitude. Although he has been transported from their family home to their villa in Majorcan, this was different as it appeared before all the other weddings.
Despite ongoing efforts to preserve the privacy of the ailing F1 icon, all guests were asked to leave their cellphones at the entrance to prevent any unauthorised photos of the 55-year-old.
However, his appearance in front of the extended family and others for the first time in many years suggests corinna's attitude may be softening.
