Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has delivered a congratulatory letter to Aleksandar Boçan-Kharchenko, Russia's ambassador in Belgrade, for the autocratic victory of Vladimir Putin in the elections.
Vucic's letter also mentions Kosovo, where the Serbian president claims that the Serbs of Kosovo are in a "difficult situation".
Serbian media cite a post by Vučić on the Serbian presidency's Instagram page that provides details of the letter he delivered to Putin. There, Vucic says that he thanks Russia for "supporting the territorial integrity of Serbia".
"I used the conversation with Ambassador Boçan-Kharchenko to hand him a letter to the President of the Russian Federation, Putin, in which, in addition to congratulating him on the election victory, I also explained the seriousness of the situation facing the Serbian people in Kosovo, the important political challenges facing Serbia, with thanks to the Russian Federation for the support it gives to the territorial integrity of Serbia", Vucic is quoted as saying.
Putin declared autocratic victory in Russia's election, winning 87.28 percent of the vote.
