Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to send a delegation to Washington to discuss Israel's military plans in Rafah.

US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said US President Joe Biden warned Netanyahu in a telephone conversation on Monday not to act in Rafah without getting Washington's approval.

"We need a strategy that works," Biden said to Netanyahu, as Sullivan has shown. "The strategy must not include major military operations that put the lives of thousands of innocent civilians in Rafah at risk. I am for the defeat of Hamas. I believe that it is an evil terrorist group with blood on its hands, not only Israeli, but also American".

During the call, Netanyahu agreed to send a team of senior officials to Washington, consisting of military intelligence and humanitarian officials, to hear US concerns about Israel's military plans in Rafah.

Sullivan has said that Israel's military is expected to hold off on a major military operation in Rafah until the team returns from Washington.

And from the Office of the Prime Minister of Israel, Netanyahu, it has been said that Netanyahu told Biden that "his country is determined to achieve the goals of the war in Gaza, which include the destruction of the Palestinian movement Hamas."
