In the worst possible way, on the Greek island of Symi, the search for popular BBC presenter Michael Mosley, who had been missing since midday on Wednesday, ended.

Mosley disappeared suddenly while on holiday on the island with his wife and a couple of friends.

The 67-year-old was found dead in a rocky area and at a distance of about 10 meters from the sea, on the beach of Agia Marina. The umbrella he was carrying the day he disappeared and a digital watch were found next to him.

Initially, according to the information, the doctor seems to rule out criminal activity, as she does not find any signs of violence on the body of the deceased. The decomposition of the body has advanced, so doctors have not been able to determine the cause of death and have not yet confirmed whether Mosley fell from the cliffs and died.

The official results of the autopsy, which will take place in Rhodes, are expected on Monday.

What is disturbing is the fact that although the investigation was thorough, even "raising" a helicopter from the Hellenic police, Mosley's body was finally found 4 days after his disappearance.

The mayor of Symi, Lefteris Papakalodoukas, together with journalists, had boarded a boat to help in the search phase. It was precisely the cameras of their cell phones that, while filming the area, spotted the body of the 67-year-old moderator.
