Police arrested a man who strangled his partner and cut her body into 35 pieces. Two weeks after the murder, the killer Aftab Ameen Poonawalla, 28, repeatedly frequented a forest in the capital New Delhi.

There he buried the body parts. Always in the middle of the night. For fear of being caught.

He is said to have committed the murder of 26-year-old Shradha Madan in May. The case has just come to light. The victim's father had dropped the missing person's report last week.

According to the police, he had stopped contact with his daughter a long time ago because he did not agree with her relationship with the later killer and their cohabitation.

Did he suspect that the man would harm his daughter?

According to the father, he learned from a friend of hers that she had been missing for a long time. Surveillance camera footage eventually led police to the killer.

Poonawalla was a trained chef and met Madan through a dating app.

After an argument about marriage, he went mad and killed his partner. He is said to have temporarily stored her body parts in a newly purchased refrigerator. In fact, he was also inspired by the American crime series "Dexter".

"This is one of the most shocking cases I have seen during my tenure and I am surprised. He cut the woman into 35 pieces and dumped the body parts in different places every day. He should be punished severely," said Swati Maliwal, head of the women's rights organization "Delhi Commission for Women".
