Today President Xi Jinping in Moscow, Putin: We are fighting common threats

Russian President Vladimir Putin declared that Russia and China are fighting "common threats" as he welcomes President Xi Jinping for a three-day trip to Moscow.

He described Xi's visit as a "historic event" that "reaffirms the special nature of the Russia-China partnership."


The Chinese leader's visit is the first by a foreign leader since the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for his Russian counterpart.

Justice ministers from more than 40 countries, including Britain's Dominic Raab, will be in London later to support the investigation into alleged war crimes - including child abductions - that have weighed heavily on the official Kremlin.
