The Home Secretary of the British government, Suella Braverman, has spoken again about the Sunak government's approach to illegal immigrants entering the British territory.
In an interview with Sky News, Braverman says that cooperation with the French is key in this process while adding that for the government it is clear: illegal migration is unacceptable.
" The Prime Minister and I have been clear that illegal migration is completely unacceptable. There are several elements in the agreement and I think it represents another positive step in our cooperation with the French. It won't fix the problem overnight. It's not a silver platter. But I think that for the first time we have some real victories for both the French and the United Kingdom, " said Braverman.
The debate in Great Britain also centers on Albanians who illegally enter British soil by rafts or other means. Two days ago, Albanians living and working in England came out in a protest to oppose racist attitudes towards Albanians.
They see as discriminatory the statement of Braverman who said that " immigrants are invading us, 10 thousand Albanians entered Britain this year alone ".
The agreement between Great Britain and France aims to increase vigilance and stop the flow of migrants crossing the English Channel to Great Britain. The agreement provides for an annual payment by the UK to France to help police the border at 72 million euros.
