A new conflict in the heart of the Balkans seems to be reborn again. Even after the continued efforts of the international community, what cannot be avoided is the Russian intervention in Serbia as an instigator of the conflict with Kosovo. And for this, Kosovo claims that the Kremlin has used the mercenaries of the Wagner group.
Although the Wagner group operates in the Central African Republic, it seems that the main goal of the Russian Federation is to penetrate through "instructors" and "007s" in the north of Kosovo, where it seems that the conflict is heating up every day.
We have evidence that there are Russian elements in the Serb protest against license plates", said the Minister of Internal Affairs of Kosovo, Xhelal Sveçla, for the prestigious La Reppublica.
Just like the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, Sveçla also said that Russia is fueling the "flames" of tensions between Kosovo and Serbia. The presence of mercenaries of the Wagner Group, a Russian mercenary organization, has been discovered on the Serbian-Kosovar border. According to the minister, the Kremlin is trying to penetrate into the heart of Europe using Serbia as a bridge, helping it to have the most armed army of the former Yugoslavia.
"The Kremlin doesn't send soldiers here to stir up discontent and infiltrate demonstrations. It just has to send the 'instructors' and the 007s." His goal would be "to use Serbia as a bridge to the heart of Europe, helping it to have the best armed army of the former Yugoslavia," Svečla said.
The serious accusation seems to be inciting a new conflict, as early as the one between Kosovo and Serbia.
The alliance of Serbia and Russia has also been demonstrated by Belgrade's vote against Western sanctions against the Kremlin's war in Ukraine.
Belgrade has also secured from Moscow 30 T-72 tanks, 30 armored vehicles, the Pantsir S1 air defense system and, by Christmas 2021, Kornet anti-tank missiles.
Kosovo sees it as a method of Serbia to oppose the plan proposed by Macron and Scholz, which is known as the "Franco-German Plan". In essence, the proposal requires Serbia to agree to Kosovo joining international organizations in exchange for speeding up its membership in the European Union.
It was precisely this proposal, the real reason for the Serbian revolt, which, according to the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Kurti, tries to use criminal groups to forcefully oppose any agreement or plan to enable Kosovo to take a step forward in international organizations. In his last statement, Prime Minister Kurti emphasized that there is not and will not be a withdrawal of the license plate decision, while he emphasized that he has a positive approach to the Franco-German proposal. / La Republica
