Media reports: US soldiers in the Middle East are facing food shortages

US soldiers deployed in the Middle East are facing shortages of food and basic supplies, while the war with Iran has blocked postal deliveries and supply chains, USA Today reports.

According to reports, thousands of packages sent by family members to troops have been stranded after the United States Postal Service temporarily suspended deliveries to 27 military zip codes in the region due to airspace closures and logistical difficulties created by the conflict.

Photos shared by the soldiers themselves show minimal food rations, with meals reduced to small portions and a lack of fresh produce. Some of them report that supplies are being rationed and food is being distributed in a limited manner.

Family members, alarmed by the situation, have sent packages of food, hygiene products and basic items, but many of them have not yet arrived at their destination. In some cases, these shipments have been waiting for weeks, without a clear delivery deadline.

According to a military spokesman, the suspension of deliveries will continue "until further notice," while their resumption depends on the stability of transport and the reopening of airspace.

The report also notes that some soldiers have begun to save food, while others are sharing supplies among themselves to cope with the situation. The shortages have also affected the morale of the troops, which, according to communications with family members, risks falling significantly if the situation continues.
