SWAT, US special forces have ended a hostage situation in a bank in Florida, executing the perpetrator.
After failing to negotiate with the 36-year-old man, who held two Bank of America employees hostage with a knife to his throat in Fort Myers, SWAT officers have chosen the "final" option.
In the images published by the authorities in the USA, the SWAT officer can be seen leaning the gun on his colleague's shoulder, and shoots the perpetrator in the head, while the bullet passes through the bank's computer screen.
"Due to the suspect's limited exposure, the sniper made a planned and deliberate strike through a computer monitor striking the suspect in the center of the forehead killing him instantly," Public Information Officer Lt. Todd Olmer stated.
The lieutenant noted that the .308 caliber bullet used "was specifically selected because of its known ballistic reliability that penetrates various barriers."
