While the United Nations Security Council, once again, postponed for today the vote on a resolution aimed at providing more aid to the residents of Gaza, the President of the United States Joe Biden is increasingly facing criticism on the world stage, for the support it is giving to Israel's military campaign.

While inside the country, as the Voice of America White House correspondent Patsy Widakuswara reports, a large number of voters do not support the way President Biden is handling the conflict.

According to Palestinian officials, twenty thousand people have been killed in Gaza since Israel launched the military operation against Hamas.

After several days of ongoing negotiations to avoid the United States' veto, on Friday the United Nations Security Council is expected to vote on a resolution that will enable an increase in humanitarian aid entering Gaza.

Israel objects to two provisions of the original resolution that call for the United Nations to take over the inspection of aid trucks and an immediate cessation of hostilities.

US Ambassador to the UN, Linda Thomas-Greenfield expressed her support for the current content of the resolution.

"It is a resolution that will bring humanitarian aid to those in need. It will support Egypt's priorities for the establishment of a mechanism on the ground in the service of humanitarian aid," she said.

As Israel continues the ground operation, President Joe Biden's reluctance to call for a ceasefire has damaged his ties with members of the Muslim-American community, who organized the "Drop Biden" campaign.

"We inform you that President Biden has lost the 2024 elections. We are not powerless as a community. We don't only have money, we also have votes," said Jaylani Hussein, organizer of the campaign against President Biden.

National Security Council spokesman John Kirby admits there is anger.

"We are listening and trying to better understand all the different points of view. That said, no nation should have to live with the threat that Hamas poses to Israel. No nation should live with that neighbor," he said.

According to a New York Times poll, most Americans, especially young voters, do not support the way President Biden is handling the war.

"The survey data is shocking. Rapid alienation of Arab-American, progressive, black voters. All of these groups appear to oppose Biden's continued support for Israel, and that could hurt him in the election if the outcome is close. I think the administration needs to change its approach to Gaza, focus on reconstruction, humanitarian aid, and then wrap it all up with a serious commitment to a final solution," says Aaron David Miller of the Carnegie Institute for International Peace.

According to the poll, voters believe that presumptive Republican candidate Donald Trump would handle the war in Gaza better.
