The Kosovo Police in cooperation with the prosecution has managed to dismantle 50 illegal cameras located in several villages with Serbian population in Gjilan.

According to local media, the cameras were filming illegally, being controlled by Serbian extremist circles, even with links to Belgrade.

The action was also confirmed by the spokesperson of the Prosecutor's Office of Gjilan, Liridona Xheladini.

"We inform you that at the request of the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Gjilan and the order of the competent Court in Gjilan, the Kosovo Police has seized about 50 cameras in the Serbian villages in the region of Gjilan, as it is suspected that they were used for unauthorized photography and recording.

The case has been qualified as "Photography and other unauthorized recordings", from Article 202 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo", she said.
